Ambient Recording have introduced a new range of boom poles. The QX
range
utilises a Carbon Fibre tube from a different manufacturer. This tube
is
stronger for the same wall dimension and has a different surface finish.
This provides a 5 section pole with equal rigidity to the original
QP 4
section range. In addition the locking ring has a new grip design and
includes an 'o' ring to seal the thread from the ingress of dirt and
grit
when used in harsh environments. The price point of the new QX is lower
making the Ambient QX boom pole very cost effective for a very high
specified product.
The QP 480 has been retained and together with the QP4140 forms the
Ambient
drama pole range.
The prices of all Ambient products have been reviewed. Many items have
been
reduced in price, with some by up to a third.
ME Geithain Dealership
At the 2004 SBES, held in November, First Sense signed an agreement with ME
Geithain GmbH to be the UK dealer for their range of professional monitor
loudspeakers.
These speakers are unique in that every component, from the
speaker cone to the amplifier mother board, is made at the factory in
Geithain, Germany. Some models employ phase cancellation
on the low frequency range to control the polar response. This makes
them particularly useful in control rooms that have acoustic difficulties.
These speakers are used extensively by German broadcasters and
other professional audio companies in Europe. A full list of clients is
